The PRCA Awards, now in their 28th year, provide a showcase for the best work in UK public relations and public affairs.
The big difference in 2008 is that, for the first time, the Awards are open to in-house communications departments as well as to the PRCA's 150 member consultancies.
PR awards are important. Not only do they recognise excellent work and the teams who perform it, they also give the industry annual benchmarks of best practice. Awards raise standards.
Moreover, clients and high-flying practitioners use awards as a signpost: who to hire, where to work.
